Trend Report Runway SS19

With NYFW over we are beginning to see some exciting trends.

Below are a few of our favorites.

Every culture has a rich history on textiles and we’re seeing this brought to the runway in an curious and contemporary way. So far we’ve seen Etro, Alice and Olivia, Osman and Mary Katrantzou play with Global Embellishments. Their use of metallics, placement prints, and fun embroideries are inspiring.

We’re also seeing designers take a whimsical approach. Miu Miu, Libertine, Whit, Tibi and Dior are a few who’ve included these fun prints into their newest collections. We love how detailed and free-spirited each print is.

Within florals we've been seeing a romantic prairie theme. Zac Posen, Rebecca taylor, Markus Lupfer, and Adam Lippes use of delicate florals is dreamy.

Bold basics are some of our favorites. Designers Carolina Herrera, Boss,and Prabal Gurung use bold and colorful stripes to bring their prints alive. This is one trend we hope to keep on seeing!

Seeing as fashion week is almost here, we've decided to give you a taste of all our favorite color stories for the coming Fall!

Trend Report: Fall Favorites

Cultural Bazaar

A decorative twist on a classic layout featuring some bold damasks, intricate paisleys, powerful patchworks and sophisticated scarf layouts. This elevated bohemian look is executed in rich and unexpected multi-color palettes. Embellished and lavish, the Cultural Bazaar trend is featured heavily on the fall runways and in our new collection.

Floral Forest

A gothic bouquet of romantic florals, this fall trend is filled with creative techniques and eye catching repeats. Floral Forest is all about moody yet feminine blooms, featuring etched illustrations, painterly brush stokes, and a pressed floral designs shining in our favorite dusty fall palettes.

Nomadic Wave

A effortless combination of texture, skin, and abstract line work make up this edgy look for fall. Modern and carefree, Nomadic wave is sure to make a splash this season. Incorporating small scale geometric layouts in neutral palettes with bright pops, this category is great for fall activewear or any design in need of a bold twist.

A Very Vibrant Spring

With Valentines day on the way, we are getting inspired by PINK!

Trend Report: Bold, Bright and Retro

Spring 2016 is all about vintage revival.

Alice and olivia is mixing their prairie retro look with some big paisley florals. The bright reds, pinks and oranges mixed with the casual suede creates a groovy ensemble for spring. 

Missoni M has created some far out stripes for their collection. A bold color story of pinks and reds gives these prints a pop of attitude and whimsy. 

Saloni has a sophisticated yet playful look to their spring collection. Let out your inner flower child and get ready for warm weather with these folksy florals and lacy tribals.

Retail Roundup: Fall Trend Report

Vintage bohemian, ornamental brocade, carpeted tribal, and abstracted floral prints are not just on the runway, they are making big appearances in retail! 

The vintage boho look is made up of ethnic medallions, mixed florals, collaged patchwork and paisleys. Any bohemian layered print will give you that perfect easy going fall style.

The abstract floral trend includes, big silhouettes, a pop art style, tattoo like foliage, and some conceptual camouflage.  Each print is unique with bold impactful style.

September Vogue

The new September issue of Vogue is not only bursting with Beyonce beauty but features some inspirational fall prints from many of our favorite designers. 

Chloe's floral chiffon gown has a bold sophistication accenting some intricate tattooed floral silhouettes. 

Missoni is playing up its geo tribal with its zigzag hatched teal and black and white linear embellishments.  

This Valentino embroidered floral dress has a folky pop art approach to fall. 

Another fabulous design for Chloe is this velvet patchwork dress. Made up of tiny floral designs, paisleys, and blocks of colors this ensemble is ready for autumn season.

Valentino was featured again with this beautifully printed chiffon dress. The print consists of some abstract textural motifs and small geometric line work mixed with delicate lace.

Here at Style Council we are very passionate about our paisleys. As the summer is heating up, our prints are getting ready for colder weather! Check out our two new boards of original prints alongside some fresh inspiration.
