Trend Report: Autumn Inspiration

Here are six inspiring trends for the up coming autumn season!

Ornamental Brocade:

These classic decorative brocade prints have an interesting modernized look.  M Missoni, Antonio Marras, Giamba, Simone Rocha, Alice + Olovia and Dolce & Gabbana featured two color damask patterns on their runways.

Vintage Bohemian:

Burberry, Clover Canyon, Tory Burch, Anna Sui, and Etro have been rocking the bohemian folk style. This trend combines patchwork, ethnic medallions, mixed geos, stripes, paisleys, earthy colors, and mixed scale graphics. These intricate patterns have a lot going on but still compliment a laid back lifestyle.

Earthy Texture:

The raw look is in this fall with abstract earthy textures. The designs of Libertine, Erdem, Faith Connexion, Sachin & Babi, Vera Wang, and Prabal Gurang bring a natural sophistication to their prints. The mix of graphic rock minerals, line hatching, and corroded earthy surfaces add an interesting palette to the fall season.

Abstracted Floral:

Neil Barrett, Diane Von Furstenberg, Rodebjer, Tanya Taylor, Blumarine,  and Samuiji are all designing with a unique floral motive in mind. The abstract floral includes, big silhouettes, gestural  line work, and a pop art approach. The colors and designs blend together nicely creating a floral camouflage.

Conceptual Skins:

These abstract animal skins were featured by designers like Issa, M Missoni, Versace, and Lanvin in Resort and Fall runway collections.  The fur like prints combine varying skin texture, abstract motifs,  flat areas of color, and small geometric graphics. A different visual and colorful approach to this naturally designed textile.

Carpeted Tribal:

These carpeted tribals prints include designs from Tadashi Shoji, Tory Burch, Burberry, Givenchy, Barbra Bui,  and Andrew Gn. The repetitive tapestry motifs add texture and depth to these fall prints. When you're putting on your warmer layers, think of these ornate layered patterns and palettes.

Autumn Boho

Our new favorite color story is inspired by Alberta Ferretti's resort 2016 collection!
We love how the dark blues and browns balance with the rusts, golds, and tans.

Our new autumn boho prints feature an eclectic mix of paisley, damask, foulard, decorative floral, and medallion designs. This rich palette and esthetic is sure to be a staple in the upcoming season.

Passion for Paisley

Here at Style Council we are very passionate about our paisleys. As the summer is heating up, our prints are getting ready for colder weather! Check out our two new boards of original prints alongside some fresh inspiration.

We have a wide range of paisleys but some of our favorites are in an earthy blue palette. Dazzling blues mixed with different browns and greens gives this paisley boho look its flair.

This black and white porcelain paisley always has a classic pristine look. A great way to add that clean contrast to any design.

Be Berry Inspired

Check out our new very berry prints!
We are loving these three color stories for transitioning into the upcoming season.

Deep cranberry has a sophisticated way of brining out the beauty of blush rose and dusty orange! Paired with some neutral beiges and you've got yourself a beautiful palette.

A touch of boysenberry makes that golden ochre shine but it's that contrast of cool blues and tans that completes this palette. Paired with your favorite jeans and comfy tan sweater our touch of berry is a great way to brighten your seasonal looks.

That raspberry pink mixed with sparkling grape creates a fantastic apricot pop.  The orange hues are complimentary to the beautiful purples in our striped layouts.

Resort 2016: Trend Recap

Our inspiration boards for Resort 2016 includes 5 fun trends for the transitional season. The print trends include large abstract florals, optical animal prints, earthy bohos, bright damasks, and trendy tribals.

These bright abstract floral prints are perfect for keeping cool on that spontaneous get away. Our board features collections by Jonathan Saunders, Marc Jacobs, Nicole Miller, Milly, Antonio Marras, Cédric Charlier, and Antonio Marras' contemporary collection I'M Isola Marras. These florals have a soft complexion but pack a bright punch of color and design.

The animal prints featured on this board are designs by Giambattista Valli's Giamba collection and Issa. Both of these animal inspired print collections have an edgy optical effect. A common theme is clean two tone patterns with a pop of lime.

This always hip bohemian look features Louis Vuitton, Alice + Olivia, Alberta Ferretti,  Sea, M Missoni, and Anna Sui. Continuing our favorite spring 70's inspired trend, these rampageous prints are updated for the upcoming season with a darker, cooler palette. We love the layout and design of this eclectic look.

Escada, Clover Canyon, Yigal Azrouël, Alice + Olivia, Naeem Khan, and See by Chloé used the ever so classic damask to brighten up their collections. Each design features that interesting pop of both pattern and color.  These mirrored repeats add style and sophistication to any look.

Finally the tribal stylings of Altuzarra, Burberry Prorsum, No. 21, House of Holland, Hervé Léger by Max Azria, Naeem Khan and Valentino. These trendy tribals add layers of pattern and a bit of edge to every season.

Just wait for our new prints coming soon!
