Spring 2019's Forecast: Partly Pastel with a 100% Chance of Chic

Spring 2019's Forecast: Partly Pastel with a 100% chance of Chic

Hermes, Stella McCartney, Lemaire, Each Other and Poiret's use of color feels soft, light, and otherworldly. What’s interesting about these pastels is they can stand well on their own or create fluid combinations.

Coming back to earth, with these rich bold primaries. Dolce and Gabbana, Alice and Olivia, and Elie Saab mix the basics to create a sophisticated palette. The constant use of a vibrant red sets these designs on fire, by making them confident and playful.

Paco Rabanne, Celine, Discount Universe, and David Koma use metallic shades to make a disco statement. The reflective colors adds movement, fluorescence, and a fun energy to each look.

Oscar de la Renta, Rebecca de Ravenel, Mary Katrantzou, Dries Van Norton and Valentino go back to the classics by only using black to white. The contrast from this palette creates negative space making your eye catch every detail. The use of minimal colors feels refined and elevates the design.

Sprouting Floral Trends

As promised we’re back with more trends. Only this time we're focusing on florals

We keep seeing flat florals walk down the runways. Versace, Mara Hoffman, Whistles, and Carolina Herrera are a few who’ve included these prints. Having such flat shapes and minimal color allows these patterns to be both simple and bold.

Folkwear is another fun trend that adapts traditional motifs. Elie Saab, Red Valentino and Bande Noir have all taken their own twist on this trend, but we do love how they all have pops of red!

We are calling this next trend 70s boudoir because of this airy and feminine take on 70’s florals. Designers Emilio Pucci, Gucci and Anna Sui play off of this theme to create sophisticated, yet youthful looks. It’s great for your oversized kimonos and pajama wear!

Cynthia Rowling, Anna Sui and Paco Rabanne are just a few of the designers playing with this floral sham trend. Imagine the flowers on your favorite duvet shrunk down to an extreme. This trend plays with scale and simplistic design.

New week, new trends!

Trend Report Runway SS19

With NYFW over we are beginning to see some exciting trends.
Below are a few of our favorites.

Every culture has a rich history on textiles and we’re seeing this brought to the runway in an curious and contemporary way. So far we’ve seen Etro, Alice and Olivia, Osman and Mary Katrantzou play with Global Embellishments. Their use of metallics, placement prints, and fun embroideries are inspiring.

We’re also seeing designers take a whimsical approach. Miu Miu, Libertine, Whit, Tibi and Dior are a few who’ve included these fun prints into their newest collections. We love how detailed and free-spirited each print is.

Within florals we've been seeing a romantic prairie theme. Zac Posen, Rebecca taylor, Markus Lupfer, and Adam Lippes use of delicate florals is dreamy.

Bold basics are some of our favorites. Designers Carolina Herrera, Boss, and Prabal Gurung use bold and colorful stripes to bring their prints alive. This is one trend we hope to keep on seeing!

Keep a look out these next couple of weeks, we have a few more trends coming your way!

Summer Rewind

Summer isn’t over yet and neither is the bight colorful inspiration
that comes with it!

One major essential is a bright and cheery palette. This brings
warmth and excitement to each design and reminds us of a long day
of sunshine.

Be inspired by adventures to the beach, picnics, and fireworks. Each moment can create a nautical print, funky floral or a patriotic pattern.

Hope your summer isn't over!

Romantic Primaries

Recently we’ve been inspired by Gucci’s 2019 Resort Collection.

The deep reds and golds are reminiscent of a twisted, dark romance. This leaves us unsettled, but also wanting more. Each color is irresistible on its own, but together it creates this iconic cinematic moment.

The addition of the blues creates a bold color combination that
elevates a simple primary palette. These sophisticated colors become
 irresistible and luxurious.

Mad about Plaid

Plaids are taking center stage on the Fall 2018 runway as brands share their twist on this classic print.

Audra unexpectedly overlays a large felted orange and pink plaid over a neutral glen plaid. A Piece Treaty also adds a pop of pastel blue to their monochrome tartan print. Below, we also see how Vivienne Westwood, Palm Angels, and Alice and Olivia all use accents of yellow in a variety of check and tartan prints.
