Spring Color Stories

Today we're exploring color stories inspired by our spring trends from our Animal Menagerie and Glamour Graphic collections. 

 We have a variety of prints featuring this dry earthy color story, including many sophisticated textures, skins and geos.  These rich green neutral tones add depth and richness in an organic way. 

Our next color story comes from some new designs in our Glamour Graphic line. Our geo prints take center stage as asymmetrical shapes combine to create statement graphics. Diagonal patterns,  contrasting line weights and linear shapes add dynamic movement to prints as bright colors provide a visually fun element to the geometric patterns.

Trend Report: Fall Favorites

 Get excited about the upcoming fall season with some fresh inspiration along side our new fall prints! Inspired by some of our favorite runway patterns, these three key trends are sure to make in impact. 

Cultural Bazaar

A decorative twist on a classic layout featuring some bold damasks, intricate paisleys, powerful patchworks and sophisticated scarf layouts. This elevated bohemian look is executed in rich and unexpected multi-color palettes. Embellished and lavish, the Cultural Bazaar trend is featured heavily on the fall runways and in our new collection.

Floral Forest

A gothic bouquet of romantic florals, this fall trend is filled with creative techniques and eye catching repeats. Floral Forest is all about moody yet feminine blooms, featuring etched illustrations, painterly brush stokes, and a pressed floral designs shining in our favorite dusty fall palettes.

Nomadic Wave

A effortless combination of texture, skin, and abstract line work make up this edgy look for fall. Modern and carefree, Nomadic wave is sure to make a splash this season. Incorporating small scale geometric layouts in neutral palettes with bright pops, this category is great for fall activewear or any design in need of a bold twist.

Americana inspired designs are always a summer favorite. Mix it up this season by blending bold stars and stripes with edgy tribals, paisley, and lace motifs, all distressed to perfection. Passion for Paisley

Here at Style Council we are very passionate about our paisleys. As the summer is heating up, our prints are getting ready for colder weather! Check out our two new boards of original prints alongside some fresh inspiration. 

We have a wide range of paisleys but some of our favorites are in an earthy blue palette. Dazzling blues mixed with different browns and greens gives this paisley boho look its flair. 

This black and white porcelain paisley always has a classic pristine look. A great way to add that clean contrast to any design.

Resort 2016: Trend Recap

Our inspiration boards for Resort 2016 includes 5 fun trends for the transitional season. The print trends include large abstract florals, optical animal prints, earthy bohos, bright damasks, and trendy tribals.

These bright abstract floral prints are perfect for keeping cool on that spontaneous get away. Our board features collections by Jonathan Saunders, Marc Jacobs, Nicole Miller, Milly, Antonio Marras, Cédric Charlier, and Antonio Marras' contemporary collection I'M Isola Marras. These florals have a soft complexion but pack a bright punch of color and design. 

The animal prints featured on this board are designs by Giambattista Valli's Giamba collection and Issa. Both of these animal inspired print collections have an edgy optical effect. A common theme is clean two tone patterns with a pop of lime. 

This always hip bohemian look features Louis Vuitton, Alice + Olivia, Alberta Ferretti,  Sea, M Missoni, and Anna Sui. Continuing our favorite spring 70's inspired trend, these rampageous prints are updated for the upcoming season with a darker, cooler palette. We love the layout and design of this eclectic look.

 Escada, Clover Canyon, Yigal Azrouël, Alice + Olivia, Naeem Khan, and See by Chloé used the ever so classic damask to brighten up their collections. Each design features that interesting pop of both pattern and color.  These mirrored repeats add style and sophistication to any look. 

Finally the tribal stylings of Altuzarra, Burberry Prorsum, No. 21, House of Holland, Hervé Léger by Max Azria, Naeem Khan and Valentino. These trendy tribals add layers of pattern and a bit of edge to every season.

Black & White

 No matter the occasion or season, you can't go wrong with classic black & white! This polished combination adds a degree of sophistication to any pattern and will never go out of style. We used this palette to elevate our intricate paisley designs, bold tribal prints and graphic texture patterns. By not over complicating our color story, the pure beauty of the design shines brighter than ever!
