Summer Tribal Trends take Coachella!

Coachella: The ultimate music festival that takes place yearly in Indio, California. It may be a time to celebrate art and music but it’s also one of the biggest fashion shows of the year.

Tribal was trending throughout, whether it was on a great pair of shorts, a flowing maxi dress, or vibrant headwear. We've seen it done in black and white, neons, and pastels, on women and teens. 

Here at stylecouncil we have been using different techniques to showcase our take on tribal. Our favorites have been done with neon accents, dip dye technique, and painterly watercolor feel.

Trend Alert: Summery Pastel Tropicals

We are loving the soft pastel color story for summer: minty greens, delicate pinks, and pale lavenders. Sun drenched, over exposed, and faded palm imagery can be seen throughout retail such as ASOS, Sandro, and ZARA.

Some of our favorite techniques at Stylecouncil are water color textures and transparent overlaying. This laid back trend is a great addition to any summer collection!

Indigo: The Color that Changed the World

“Indigo: The Color that Changed the World” by Catherine Legrand, is a coffee table book detailing the life span of the color indigo and how it evolved from an ancient technique to a huge trend in fashion.

This season, our original print collection was inspired by fresh blues and greens. The rich colors and dimension of the prints were prompted by the texture and surface of objects.

Batik, Americana hand-made, distressed texture from denim, have all been areas to collect inspiration from.
